International Women’s Rights Day provides a special opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to gender equality in all areas, including project management. Gender equality extends beyond merely acknowledging rights; it also encompasses equitable access to opportunities and balanced representation in all aspects of professional life.

In the field of project management, where strategic decisions are made, resources are allocated, and actions are implemented, the absence of gender-balanced representation can seriously compromise outcomes. That’s why it is imperative to rethink the inclusion of women at all levels of project decision-making and implementation.

Women’s Inclusion: An Imperative for Project Management

Gender equality in project management offers multiple benefits, both economically and socially. Including women in project management not only brings a diversity of perspectives but also enhances overall performance. Studies show that diverse teams, including both men and women, display better outcomes, particularly in terms of profitability and stakeholder satisfaction.

Furthermore, integrating women into project management supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

Furthermore, by positioning women in leadership and decision-making roles, project management is positioning itself as an inspirational model for other sectors, encouraging diversity and gender equality on a global scale.
