The education sector in Togo has had an Education Sector Plan (ESP) since 2010. The Education Sector Plan is the framework for education development based on the objectives of the Education Sector Policy Statement adopted by the Government in 2009. After implementation over the period 2010-2012, the ESP was updated first in 2013 for the period 2014-2025 and then in 2019 for the period 2020-2030.
The Togolese government intends to pursue the policy of developing the education system identified in the previous PSE 2014 – 2025 by aligning it more closely with the new National Development Plan (PND 2018 – 2022) and by taking into consideration the documents developed since the previous PSE.
The revision of this education sector plan was inspired by the Togolese government’s vision for the socio-economic development of the country as well as by the international commitments to which the country has subscribed. This vision, expressed in the NDP, is to “make Togo an economically, socially and democratically sound and stable middle-income nation, united and open to the world”. To do this, the overall objective of the new national development policy is to “structurally transform the economy, for strong, sustainable, resilient, inclusive growth, creating decent jobs and leading to the improvement of social well-being”.
The Ministry of Primary, Secondary, Technical and Learning Education (MEPSTA) of Togo has chosen OMCG for the digitization of the monitoring of the Education Sector Plan through the implementation of a digital platform to plan, monitor and evaluate the activities implemented.
